ADHD Services in San Antonio

At Anchored Pediatric Mental Health, we provide comprehensive ADHD evaluations and ongoing care for children and teens in San Antonio and across Texas.

Our approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs.

Understanding ADHD

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental condition that can affect focus, activity level, impulse control, organization, and emotional regulation.

ADHD may present differently in each child. Symptoms can impact school performance, relationships, confidence, and daily functioning.

At Anchored, we look beyond symptoms to understand your child’s full story, including strengths, challenges, and the environments in which they learn and grow.

Our Approach to ADHD Care

We believe ADHD care should be individualized, supportive, and collaborative.

Our evaluation process includes:

  • Thorough clinical assessment using developmental history and clinical interview

  • Input from parents, teachers, and other caregivers

  • Objective testing with QBCheck® to measure attention, impulsivity, and activity level

  • Family-centered care that involves parents in decision making

  • Support for executive function, emotional regulation, and school success

  • Flexible treatment plans that may include medication management, behavioral strategies, and coaching support

Ongoing ADHD Care

A diagnosis is only the beginning. ADHD care often involves ongoing support as children grow and their environments change.

Ongoing care may include:

• Individualized treatment plans with or without medication
• Behavioral parent training and family education
• Collaboration with schools and other providers
• Regular follow-up visits to monitor progress and adjust support

We offer both in-person and telehealth visits when appropriate.

To meet Texas prescribing guidelines, children receiving ADHD medication will have at least two in-person visits each year.

Objective Cognitive & Attention Testing

As part of a comprehensive ADHD evaluation, we may incorporate objective digital testing tools to better understand patterns of attention, impulsivity, activity level, and executive functioning.

These tools provide measurable data that complements clinical interviews, developmental history, rating scales, and behavioral observations.

Objective testing can also help differentiate ADHD from other conditions that may affect attention, such as anxiety, sleep concerns, or learning challenges.

QBCheck® Objective Attention Testing

QBCheck is a computerized assessment that measures attention, impulsivity, and activity level during structured tasks. Using the computer camera, the test can also track movement patterns throughout the assessment.

This allows us to observe behavioral patterns associated with ADHD symptoms and compare results to age-based norms.

QBCheck is particularly helpful for:

• Supporting ADHD diagnostic clarification

• Measuring attention and impulsivity objectively

• Evaluating hyperactivity and motor activity

• Monitoring response to treatment over time

Creyos Cognitive Assessment

Creyos is a research-validated digital cognitive assessment platform used by clinicians to measure brain functions involved in attention and executive functioning.

Through a series of brief tasks, Creyos evaluates areas such as:

• Sustained attention

• Working memory

• Response inhibition

• Planning and problem solving

• Reaction time and cognitive processing

This broader cognitive profile helps us understand how a child’s brain processes information, identify cognitive strengths and challenges, and guide individualized treatment plans.

Creyos may be especially helpful when:

• ADHD symptoms overlap with anxiety or stress

• Executive function challenges affect school performance

• We want deeper insight into cognitive strengths and learning patterns

• We want to monitor cognitive changes over time

How These Tools Are Used

Objective testing tools do not diagnose ADHD on their own. Instead, they provide additional information that helps guide clinical decision making as part of a comprehensive evaluation.

Depending on the child’s symptoms and concerns, we may use one or both tools.

QBCheck is often used when we want to measure attention, impulsivity, and activity levels directly during structured tasks.

Creyos may be used when we want a broader understanding of cognitive functions such as attention, working memory, and executive skills, or when symptoms overlap with concerns such as anxiety, learning differences, or executive functioning challenges.

Results are interpreted alongside:

• Developmental and medical history

• Parent and teacher questionnaires

• Clinical interviews and observation

• Emotional and behavioral screening

This integrated approach helps ensure that ADHD is accurately identified and that other contributing factors are considered when developing a personalized care plan.

Monitoring Progress, Not Just Diagnosing

ADHD care does not stop after diagnosis.

When appropriate, we may use cognitive testing tools to monitor changes in attention, executive functioning, and cognitive performance over time. This helps us evaluate whether treatment strategies are supporting meaningful progress.

Curious how cognitive testing works?

You can try a brief sample task similar to those used in cognitive assessments.

This short demonstration gives you an idea of how digital tasks measure attention and cognitive performance.

This sample task does not provide diagnostic results

but illustrates how cognitive testing works during a comprehensive evaluation.
